# Connecting a Payment Device

You can connect a payment device to your Rapyd Wallet via a QR Code.

You must have Owner or Administrator permissions to connect a payment device to your Rapyd Wallet.

> **Note:**
>
> You must have a portable payment device in order to use this feature.

## How to Connect a Payment Device

1. Sign in as described in [Signing In to the Client Portal](https://docs.rapyd.net/en/signing-in-to-the-client-portal.md "Signing In to the Client Portal") and navigate to **Wallets** > **Wallets**.

   The **Wallets** page appears.

2. Click on the row of the wallet you want.

   **Note**: Pairing a Rapyd business wallet to your payment device is optional.
3. The **Wallet details** side panel appears.

4. Click on the **Payment devices** tab in the side panel.

5. Click the **Pair payment device** button.
6. The **Pair payment device** window appears.

7. Click **Next**.
8. The QR code is generated.
9. You can use your payment device to connect with a Rapyd Wallet via QR code.

10. Scan the QR code using the payment device camera.
11. Make sure the payment device is connected to the internet.
12. Once the payment device is paired, you will see it in the system.
13. Click **Done**.

## How to Pair a Payment Device via the Home Screen

1. You can also add a payment device via the **Home** screen in the Client Portal.
2. Navigate to the Home tab in the left side navigation.
3. The **Home** page appears.

4. Click on the **pair payment device** link under the **Pair payment device to wallet** card in the upper left corner.
5. The **Pair payment device** window appears.

6. Click **Next**.

7. Search for a client wallet or business wallet using a Wallet ID in the search bar. A Wallet ID is a string starting with **ewallet_**.

8. Click on an option from the search results.

9. Click **Next**.
10. The QR code is generated.
11. You can use your payment device to connect with a Rapyd Wallet via QR code.

12. Scan the QR code using the payment device camera.
13. Make sure the payment device is connected to the internet.
14. Once the payment device is paired, you will see it in the system.
15. Click **Done**.
