# Creating a Sale

Collect money from a card.

### How

1. From the Rapyd App main screen, swipe right.

   The **Sale** screen appears.

2. Enter the amount and tap **Enter** (![Enter_icon.png](image/img-aa3d49f2c5d5e86da93c2c4917c0365e.png)).

   1. If you have enabled tip functionality, the **Add a Tip** screen appears. To enable tips, contact Rapyd [For Direct Rapyd Merchants](https://docs.rapyd.net/en/payment-terminal-support.md#UUID-afd3ed7d-bf6a-343a-1197-658cce771011_section-idm13401132919910 "For Direct Rapyd Merchants").

   2. Tap the tip amount you want.

   The **Read Card** screen appears.

3. Do one of the following:

   - Hold the card near the contactless card reader.
   - Insert the card in the [smart card reader (SCR)](https://docs.rapyd.net/en/glossary.md#UUID-945d98cf-adae-e1cf-2606-c7fae8b4a7e1_scr "Smart Card Reader").
   - Swipe the card in the [magnetic stripe reader (MSR)](https://docs.rapyd.net/en/glossary.md#UUID-945d98cf-adae-e1cf-2606-c7fae8b4a7e1_msr "Magnetic Stripe Reader").
   - To enter the card information manually for a [card-not-present](https://docs.rapyd.net/en/glossary.md#UUID-945d98cf-adae-e1cf-2606-c7fae8b4a7e1_moto "Mail-Order Telephone-Order") transaction, tap **Moto**. This type of transaction is less secure. Use it when the card is not present.

     The card information screen appears. If address verification is enabled, the **Zip Code** and **House Number** fields appear. To enable address verification, contact [For Direct Rapyd Merchants](https://docs.rapyd.net/en/payment-terminal-support.md#UUID-afd3ed7d-bf6a-343a-1197-658cce771011_section-idm13401132919910 "For Direct Rapyd Merchants").

     1. Enter all required information.
     2. Tap **Enter** (![check_icon.png](image/img-912579ec8fe2fbfefcde4ebcb7fd67c7.png)).

   The **Approved** screen appears, followed by the sale transaction summary.

4. To print a receipt for the cardholder, tap **Print Cardholder**.
