# Identity Verification - Individual

Verification of the identity of a personal contact associated with a wallet.

Rapyd verifies the identity of an individual using identification documents, such as passports, ID cards and other documents that are considered legally valid for establishing identity. The results appear in a webhook. This is a [Know-Your-Customer (KYC)](https://docs.rapyd.net/en/glossary.md#UUID-945d98cf-adae-e1cf-2606-c7fae8b4a7e1_kyc "Know Your Customer") process.

This information is available for use by merchants and other businesses.
