# Physical Security Controls

Maintain strict control over the physical environment in which terminals are operated.

- Install terminals in locations monitored by CCTV or under active physical surveillance whenever possible.
- Allow only trusted, authorized personnel to install, maintain, and service terminals.
- Verify the identity of a technician before granting access to the terminal.
- Conduct daily inspections of terminals to detect signs of tampering, such as:

  1. Scratches or unusual marks
  2. Loose or unfamiliar parts
  3. Extra or unrecognized cables
- When not in use, store terminals in a secure and monitored area.
- Use physical seals or locking mechanisms to prevent unauthorized removal or substitution of terminals.
