Creating a Sale

Collect money from a card.

How

  1. From the Rapyd App main screen, swipe right.

    The Sale screen appears.

  2. Enter the amount and tap Enter (Enter_icon.png).

    1. If you have enabled tip functionality, the Add a Tip screen appears. To enable tips, contact Rapyd Technical Support.

    2. Tap the tip amount you want.

    The Read Card screen appears.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Hold the card near the contactless card reader.

    • Insert the card in the smart card reader (SCR).

    • Swipe the card in the magnetic stripe reader (MSR).

    • To enter the card information manually for a card-not-present transaction, tap Moto. This type of transaction is less secure. Use it when the card is not present.

      The card information screen appears. If address verification is enabled, the Zip Code and House Number fields appear. To enable address verification, contact Technical Support.

      1. Enter all required information.

      2. Tap Enter (check_icon.png).

    The Approved screen appears, followed by the sale transaction summary.

  4. To print a receipt for the cardholder, tap Print Cardholder.

In this section:

A part of the point-of-sale terminal that reads payment cards with chips.

A part of the point-of-sale terminal that reads the magnetic stripe on payment cards.

A card transaction where the customer is not present but has placed the order by mail or telephone, and the sensitive personal information is manually entered by the merchant. Also known as a card-not-present transaction.
