TMS Calls

Approximately once a month, Ingenico terminals call the Terminal Management System (TMS) to receive updates to the software, details of new card schemes, and changes to your configuration. This call takes place automatically, normally outside of standard trading hours. After the TMS call, the terminal prints a TMS report, indicating whether the communication succeeded or failed.

  • CONNECTED

    • OK - Successfully connected to TMS.

    • FAIL - Unable to connect to TMS.

  • CONFIG DATA

    • OK - Download was successful.

    • FAIL - Download was not successful.

    • NOT REQUIRED - No update was required.

Downloads are sometimes unsuccessful on a software upgrade because the required connection time is longer. If the TMS call is interrupted while downloading a new or updated configuration file, for example, due to a communications problem, you may experience one of the following:

  • A receipt is printed out, saying FAIL, and you need to make the TMS call manually. Press Menu twice, then F3 (Supervisor), enter the password, press Menu again, and then F4 (Call TMS).

  • The terminal is set into a NOT READY state and is not usable until the file is downloaded. If your terminal displays the NOT READY status message, it is not initialised. Press Menu once and choose the SETUP menu option.
